I have installed entry doors, worked with drywall, done electrical work, and now am attempting to install a garage door. I have never done anything with a garage door and I have a person who wants me to install one for them. I would have to take the whole door off and replace it with a brand new one. I do not want to charge them too much, but still do not want to charge less then it's worth.

its for a project. it has to work;
ex. the garage door can go up and the front door can open and close.

thanks!
its using foam board to make it.

I do alot of work in my garage. I'd like to be able to let my dogs in the garage with me but since I open the door to let the air flow through, they always wander out the garage and into the street. My garage is impossible to be in without opening the door because of the heat so I want to come up with some type of barricade that will close off the bottom 3 or 4 feet of the garage. Kinda like a baby-gate except that my garage door is 16 feet wide. The first thing that comes to mind is using 2 panels of plastic latice framed in some manner that they can be attached to each other then attached to the garage door frame. This presents a storage problem though since these things have to be moved all the time to let the car in and out. Does anyone have any ideas?

Garage Door Opener Repair

Successfully fixed the garage door and garage door opener that destroyed itself when my wife was trying to leave for a trip to California. This probably sounds a lot noisier on the video that it does to the neighbors (I hope.)

Were are in the middle of closing a loan on a home we are buying and the garage door has to be free of chipped paint before the inspector sees it. Any body know a quick and easy way to strip the paint chips and to paint a wood paneled garage door?
Do I need to prime IT?

Garage door is now being used manually. The problem was the garage door was going up and down when you tried to use the remote. I sprayed it with WD40 and wanted to know when you pull the rope to activate it manually, si there anything I need to do to use it with the remote? Or does by opening it manually put it back on track....thanks!

There is a lever that actually pulls and open the garage door when you press your garage-door button. Then there is a short metal bar along the chain (long) from the motor (box) and the garage door which grips the metal bar so it opens and closes the garage. This short metal bar runs when the garage door button is pressed along the chain, but it is not gripping as it should hence, the door is not opening and closing. Anyone has solution how to fix this ? I would appreciate the correct suggestion. Thank you.

garage door?

The boss walked into the office one morning not knowing his zipper was
down and his fly area wide open. His assistant walked up to him and
said, this morning when you left your house, did you close your garage
door?"

The boss told her he knew he'd closed the garage door, and walked into
his office puzzled by the question. As he finished his paperwork, he
suddenly noticed his fly was open, and zipped it up. He then understood
his assistant's question about his "garage door." He headed out for a
cup of coffee and paused by her desk to ask, "When my garage door was
open, did you see my Hummer parked in there?"

She smiled and said, "No, I didn't. All I saw was an old mini van with
two flat tires.
