Is it safe to leave my garage door cracked for a couple stray cats?

I have an overhead remote garage door, would it be ok to leave it up since the weather is freezing outside? Our city is known to have robberies, but If the door is cracked would this be ok?

I wouldnt, if you do decide to make sure there is nothing of value in your garage and there is a well locked door if there is access to your house through the garage.
Think of it from a robbers point of view would you go for a closed garage door in the middle of the night or one that is already partly open.
Hope my view helps
Probably not. If the cats can get in, so can people. However, with it being winter, I doubt anyone will be tempted to rob you. I would also not suggest leaving the door open for the cats; they’ll never leave and you’ll have to pay more for all the heat escaping. My suggestion: get a really big box and put some hay or newspaper in it for the cats. It’s warmer than you think!
Don’t do it. You’ll get raccoons or other unwanted animals too. But if you don’t care, then it’s fine. Just make it so nobody could possibly slither through. Cats can get through really small cracks.
Sure its ok… btw whats your address?.. do you have lots of nice electronics and jewelery at your house?..I’m just curious.
Did you say there are robberies in your City ? I wouldn’t leave the garage door open!
NO DOUBT…THERE ARE "CAT BURGLERS" TOO! Peace.
No. Keep the door shut for your safety. It is a bad idea for the cats because other animals including dogs can get in too. Plus they will either hang out on or under the hoods. You will have cat paw prints all over your windowshield and hood. The fan belts when you start your car can kill or injure them. Plus they will pee in your garage.
See if the local animal shelter will loan or rent you a trap in which to capture the cats. Then spay or neuter them so there aren’t any babies this spring.
I saw a cat house made out of straw bales for outdoor cats. It was made out of 9 or 12 small bales, The first level was all bales. The middle had the center middle bale(s) removed for the cats to hang out. A opening was out out of another bale for them to get in and out and there was a ledge outside the door so they could sun bathe. It was on front porch.
A customer at a pet store where I work bought a domed giant plastic litter box with for a shelter for a stray she feeds. She was going to duck tape the air vent on the top and position it so the entrance was out of the wind. Put blankets or a bed in it . Put it on something other than concrete or frozen ground. $24 Other people put out plastic or wooden boxes some on cheap plastic shelving units- again to keep them off of the frozen ground.
get a gun
don’t worry about robbers
just make sure you’re home when you leave the garage door open a bit.
when a cat enters, welcome it.
when a burglar enters, *BOOM*
