Is it safe to leave my garage door cracked for a couple stray cats?

I have an overhead remote garage door, would it be ok to leave it up since the weather is freezing outside? Our city is known to have robberies, but If the door is cracked would this be ok?

I think its not better because there is one issue that is robberies. So you should leave it close.
In theory, the garage door won’t open unless you use the remote or wall switch. But you.may not want to leave it open with robbers around. Can’t be too safe!
Is there a side door that you might be able to cut a "mouse hole" in. Just an archway, big enough for a cat to fit through. We did that in our house, we have 4 cats. Their "kitty door" is in our bedroom. Most times when we leave, we lock our bedroom door. So to prevent locking one of the cats on the wrong side of the door (where they can’t get to the kitty door) we cut a small archway in our bedroom door so they can get through if the door is shut. I’d try that and then put a fluffy pile of old rags or something, so the cats have somewhere sorta warm to sleep. Course a little food and water never hurts either. Poor animals who are left out in the cold are pitiful. I feed all I see, even where we store our RV. There are feral cats there. I take dry food and water when we go there, at least once a week. Allot of cute kittens. I can’t even imagine how they stay warm when the temps at night are 21 degrees.
not a good idea, with all the robberies taking place, why not get one of those electronic cat flaps that only opens for your cat?
You old softie! Cats can find their way through amazingly small openings. I suggest opening the door just a little less than a clenched fist. That should be enough for the fattest cat. Test if you can open it any more from the outside just in case.
Why not go buy a little dog box put a animal heating pad inside and then you won’t have to worry about anyone gaining access to your garage. Shut! Locked! Safe! the
