How to get the chain back on a garage door opener?

The garage door chain just came off the little gear that drives it. Is there a way for me to put it back on or should I call a professional?

hope this helps call someone
There is an adjustment on top of the motor unit that you can adjust a bolt that moves the sprocket back and forth. Loosen the bolt and move the sprocket forward to give room for the chain. After the chain is on then tighten the bolt will tighten the chain. You could do this.
It came off for a reason
Find why it came off first.
There is a reason why it came off, and you’d have to first figure that out before putting the chain back. Most likely it’s because a limit switch didn’t close or open to indicate that the door had closed, so the opener continued to feed chain until it ran out.
The problem is, even if you fix the limit switch problem, you might need to activate the opener while you hold the chain on the sprocket so that it begins to pull on it. That’s a bit risky because if you make a mistake or your fingers slip when you do this, it could grab hold of a finger and mash it under the chain.
As for calling someone, that might be a good idea.
