The gear(s) in my garage door opener is worn and i had a repair man come check it. He said he cant replace just the gears because the opener is the old kind that doesn't have a sensor and would have to replace the door opener (as per some code) for 0.
Why cant i just replace the gear? And how much does a garage opener installation average?
I just had the torsion spring replaced for 0 so i'm trying to be frugal.
